Part 3 Training Reviews
ADI Part 3
Training - Short Course
The First day
Was it going to be another
session of constant criticism with which I was used
to or would this be constructive. I had spent the
last year training with one of the UK’s biggest
driving instructor training schools and felt lost
and alone with my ADI part 3 looming. Constant
stories about how difficult it was, and this is why
the fail rate is so high, were common. Was it
difficult or was it that the ADI training was sub
standard. I decided on the later and began searching
for someone that had a reputation to deliver
results.
Confused and quite worried
about what was in store for me I decided to meet
Colin Scott in Leicester. We had a coffee and quite
a long chat about what I expected and what he would
deliver. Seemed from the minute we met he had a
clear idea of what I was aiming for and how best he
could approach it as a trainer.
After 4 hrs I was already aware
of my short comings and with my part 3 test just 3
days away I was no way ready to give it my best
shot. What amazed me that day was for the first time
I had a completely clear vision of what I needed to
develop to get to my goal. Every time Colin said
something I found I was already thinking it!
Following that initial 4 hrs I
went away and sorted another two 8 hr sessions just
prior to my part 3 exam. I left feeling so positive
about it all, full of self belief that I could
actually do it with a little more training.
Second Meeting
Again it started as the first,
very relaxed, setting the days goals. Colin had
already formulated a structure which in reflection
seemed to fit me 100%. The hours flew by and by the
end of the day together we were clear of what I
needed to concentrate on for the following day.
Colin is a 'no Bull' type of trainer and is always
honest in his evaluation. He made it clear from the
start that he would tell me if I wasn’t ready,
suitable or capable to be an ADI. With 8 hrs
training to go Colin stressed how difficult it would
be but also HOW attainable it was. At the end of my
training Colin said Call me and tell me how you did.
His last words to me, and these are so true were.
“When you are in that dark
place when everything seems to be falling apart,
hold on tight and come through the other side. It
won’t last forever and you will be better when you
come through”
All through my Part 3 those
words kept repeating in my head, and there were a
few dark moments when I could of so easily fell
apart. Indeed that was my biggest weakness of all –
Thanks Colin.
I passed my ADI Part 3 first
attempt with 5-5. A good result I know, I’m allowed
to brag a bit! But the important thing is this, and
ask yourself the same.
I actually felt I could pass
this exam first go, and didn’t expect to fail…..so
thorough was the training.
Colin is a nice guy always
willing to help and so giving with his time. He
leaves no stone un-turned and WILL find and fix
areas of weakness you don’t even realise you have. I
don’t want this to sound like he’s some kind of
super hero, but hand on heart I would never of
passed this part 3 without his guidance or someone
else’s guidance of similar statue.
I will be seeing Colin from
Driving Innovation in the future for further
development.
Cheers again,
You literally help me change my
life.

ADI YORK
Colin,
Thank you once
again for your tutorage. It’s no exaggeration to say
that without your assistance I would not have passed
my ADI Part three exam.
You may remember
that I undertook a 4 week training course with a
company in Cumbria. The training I received got me
through part one and two but I got only a small
amount of training on part three. My sponsoring ADI
disappeared from the face of the earth. So without
support I failed two attempts at part three before I
found the ADI Forum and your name kept popping up
time and time again as the trainer.
Leicester is a long
way from the Scottish Borders but the travel was
worth the effort. Your training methods and style
are excellent, understanding, extremely
knowledgeable, always pushing to get the best out of
your pupil but at the same time friendly, concerned
and always mindful of the pupils needs.
It is testament to
your skill that after a three day course and a one
day refresher before my part three exam I am now a
qualified ADI.
I’ll keep in touch
through the ADI forum and I know which trainer I
will be choosing before I will feel prepared to
eventually branch out in to training potential
instructors myself.
Thanks again

ADI Part 2 Review
Having completed my Part
2 training and passed my exam with an excellent result
(zero faults!), I wanted to say a few words about my
experience with Colin Scott of Driving Innovation.
As soon as I met Colin,
I felt that he was 100% behind me and he would support
me in whatever way possible in my training and
mentally too.
The ADI Training itself was
to an extremely high standard but at the same time, at
no point, did I feel overwhelmed or as if it was
beyond my ability.
My result I feel
reflects not only my personal ability but also Colin's
training skills that were superb. Id like to take this
opportunity to once again thank him and I look forward
to Part 3!!!!

I can only agree with everything
already written about Colin, He was recommended to
me by my wife's driving instructor, whom he had also
trained, Having gone the way of so many before and
followed the glossy brochure route with a local
company,. loads of money paid over, 2 fails Part 1, 2
fails Part 2 and 2 fails Part 3,. I had very little
belief in my ability, a spell in hospital was the
excuse my previous trainer needed to unload
me.
At an all time low and on the
verge of quitting I met Colin, what a breath of
fresh air he was, after our initial lesson and chat
my moral had rocketed. Unfortunately he was not
given the time to prevent my 3rd failure at Part 3, but
he had given me faith in myself, enough to reapply
and start again,. I have particular personal and
family problems which I wont bore you with, which
hindered my progress in training and will probably
cause problems in my career, but throughout my
driving instructor training Colin was unbelievably patient and
understanding, he has, at times, given me a
kick up the backside (proverbially) when it all got
to much for me, or I felt sorry for myself.
As many others have mentioned,
his quality and depth of instruction is of the
highest standard, he has so much knowledge to pass
on and I sincerely hope to continue using him for my
CPD and Check Test Training, what others have failed
to mention is the level of friendship you build up
over the lessons, he's such a damned nice guy I
actually looked forward to our lessons whereas
previously I had dreaded them with my first ADI trainer,
great trainer, great support, great guy, great
friend, what more recommendation do you need, go for
it!!!!!!!!

RoSPA Advanced Driving
I got to know Colin about six years ago
through a local driving
instructor. I had already tackled RoSPA's advanced
driving test a couple of times, achieving silver
grade. I wanted to uplift this to gold. This was
Colin's brief.
The lessons were particularly thorough,
ironing out several persistent bad habits and
concentrating on the Roadcraft system. Colin's
patience is excellent and his teaching methods
enjoyable.
Took the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test three
years ago, achieving gold and again this summer also
achieving gold.
Many thanks Colin.

Colin,
Just a short note to say thank you for your hard work
and complete commitment to helping me achieve my
passing ADI Part 3 exam, and also for the detail that
you put into my instruction which it must be said
certainly will benefit my pupils.
To anyone out there who is thinking of becoming an 'ADI'
I strongly advise you not to approach that well known
large organization who in my experience takes your
money (lots of it) and does a runner. That large
driving instructor training company taught me frustration, anger, and how to fill
a classroom and car with trainees.
Colin, I have no hesitation in recommending your
company 'Driving Innovation', your Pay As You Go and
one to one ADI Training is excellent.

I
looked at a lot of glossy leaflets and
information pack all wanting a lot of money up
front for there ADI Training courses, then
luckily some one recommended me to Colin.
On
first meeting Colin I felt that he really new
his stuff. I felt that his ADI Training was
tailored to my need and ability. You can really
tell that he has a passion for what he does.
His
ADI Part 3 Training was brilliant; the way that
he structures his role play is just as it is on
the ADI Part 3 exam. He helped me pass my ADI
Part 3 exam 1st time! I would not
hesitate to recommend Colin to any one seriously
thinking of becoming a driving instructor.

I hope
this is close to a testimonial as this is the
truth!
To become a teacher was my hope from a very
early age. Having the interest to become a
driving instructor began few years ago as I was
a religious person who had to take considerable
time off work at different times during the day.
As there was flexibility in this profession, the
longing to become a driving instructor grew
enormously over the years. Having joined a large
organization, I thought I could achieve this.
After passing the first and the second hurdle, I
was faced with the final hurdle which was like a
tunnel going deeper and deeper into the ground
which had no light and every time I tried
changing my techniques after listening to the
examiners and ADI Trainers, I would be digging a
deeper hole with no way out.
After lots of prayers, I was directed towards
COLIN SCOTT by my god, who on the first meeting
impressed me at a stage in life when believe me
it would have been hard for anybody as I thought
he was going to be like any other ADI Trainer.
For me COLIN SCOTT was a GODSEND and I truly
hope and pray, may god accept my invocation,
that in this life-long struggle he is directed
on the straight path as he directed me towards
the light at the end of the tunnel and also
after life which I believe is an eternal life.
Warm Regards

I decided
to pursue a different career back in May 2004.
Talking to a friend of mine (a qualified ADI) he
persuaded me to look into becoming a driving
instructor, but did give me some great advice of not
getting involved with one of those "so called
driving colleges" as he did, but to look
independent. On surfing the internet, I came across
Driving Innovation, and made contact with Colin
Scott to book into an introductory lesson. Straight
the way, during the lesson Colin put me at ease, and
began with a "coffee and a chat" on what to expect.
As from there on we built up a rapport. Colin is one
of those guys, who's enthusiasm for the job shines
through, and it became an effect onto me. I never
wanted the lesson to end, and could not wait for my
next one to come round. It's no wonder that his
results are so positive with so many trainees (many
now being qualified). Thanks for all your
persistence Colin, and look forward to using your
services in the future.
Thanks Again

ADI Part 3 Training
Having made slow Part 3
progress over a year I finally took the plunge and
arranged some sessions with Colin Scott. This meant
a four hour round trip to Leicester each time.
Meeting up with Colin was the end of the
beginning for me.
Colin’s approach to training
made a nice change and I went away from the initial
training sessions knowing that progress had been
made rather than coming away disillusioned. He is a
real professional in his field and after awhile you
start to realise that each session has been
carefully thought out and planned for you as an
individual.
Even Colin was unable to quite
get through to me in time for my second attempt at
Part 3 but this was down to me basically forgetting
most of the stuff he had taught me once in the heat
of the Part 3 moment.
However I knew we were heading
in the right direction and with another 3 months
hard work he worked his magic. I had doubts about my
abilities and my confidence was up and down but
Colin knew better and he transferred his confidence
in my abilities to me. Over the last couple of
sessions he made it clear that I was very capable of
getting a high pass and of course my result, a 5-5
proved him right.
In summary Colin is not only a
skilled trainer but also a nice guy. I know he made
the difference for me and I am so glad that I
finally took the decision six months ago after
failing my first Part 3 to train with him in
Leicester.
I would recommend him without
any doubts to anybody looking for quality ADI
training.
